9.6 MILLION EUROS FOR THE RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR
Human Resources Development Operational Programme entitled as “Renewable Youth Energy RE-YOU” with 9.6 million euro expected budget, carried out by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security under European Union Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) has successfully gone through the assessment process and has won the right of support.
This is important news for South Marmara Region was announced to the public by GMK Chairman, Balikesir Governor Mr Ahmet Turhan, Canakkale Governor Mr Ahmet Cinar, Balıkesir University Rector. Dr. Mahir Alkan, Deputy Secretary General Mr Ekrem Özşen and GMKA Board of Directors in a meeting attended by the representatives from Balikesir University.
Due to this funding, the partner projects of Balikesir University will be 85% funded by European Union's and 15% budget will be provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
To reduce the unemployment, the young generation of southern Marmara in turkey benefit from this. They will get education, training and jobs in the renewable energy sector and
Renewable Energy program will be established at the Vocational training schools Under the projects of institute of energy Renewable Energy Training and Research Centre in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Balikesir University,.
Under the programme of giving employment to 100 unemployed youngsters, renewable energy project will be able to get 3 different certification programs in seven months. This will be followed by a 3-months internship and further employment.
Career guidance will also be provided to students to start their own business.
5 million budgeted financial support programs will also be introduced to help young unemployed people of the region to start a business in the renewable energy sector.
One of the aims is also to make south marmara region of turkey as a main region in for the production of renewable energy sector.
In the coming month, after the completion of accreditation process, the Agencies will have the opportunity to get funding from European Union also for different subjects.
